*January 16, 1937 Lt. Gilbert W. Fletcher of Engine Co. 20 died of illness, his death was ruled a Line of Duty death.

*April 11, 1938 Battalion Fire Chief Twyman S. Jones of the 5th Battalion died of carcinoma and arteriosclerosis.  His death was ruled a Line of Duty death.

*August 15, 1949 Pvt Edward G. Williams of Truck Co. 12 died as a result of a heart attack while on duty.  His death was ruled a Line of Duty death.

*December 18, 1957 Sgt. John Richards of Engine Co. 20 died as a result of  heart problems.  His death was ruled a line of duty death.

*Satan the firehouse dog of Engine20, Truck 12, and BFC5....

*July 7, 2007 Technician James McRae III of Truck Co. 12 died of heat attack at the quarters of 20 engine. His death ruled Line of Duty death.

Technician McRae's Funeral

ENGINE 20 TRUCK 12 LOSES FRIEND, FAMILY MEMBER, AND ONE GREAT TECHNICIAN

It is with regret to notify the Department of the Line of Duty Death (LODD) of Firefighter Technician James J. McRae III of Truck Company 12, Platoon No. 3, on Saturday, July 7, 2007, while serving as the truck driver.  A preliminary investigation revealed that Firefighter McRae experienced shortness of breath.  He was immediately assessed and treated by the firefighter paramedic assigned to Engine Company 20.  He was subsequently transported to the hospital where he later succumbed. Firefighter McRae’s line of duty death is the Department’s 99th. Further Trust Fund information and Funeral details will be released as they come available.
